Jamshedpur, November 12: Dream run for unseeded Rohith Hari Balaji continues as he enters the quarter finals of the Men’s Singles category at the ongoing Beldih Club AITA Men’s National Ranking Tennis Tournament 2024 (1 Lac Prize Money), been held at the sand-clay courts of the Beldih Club, Jamshedpur.
Tamil Nadu’s Balaji proved to be too good for the hard hitting Arnav Kapoor of Himachal Pradesh as the former won by an easy 6-2,6-2. Balaji will face Assam’s Sidhant Deka in the quarter finals tomorrow who today got the better of Bengal’s Shagnik Bose by a dominating 6-2,6-0.
Local lad Dev Sinha, seeded 4 in the draw, fought a marathon match against Bengal’s Shounak Chatterjee, aged 17 years, before losing out by a close 4-6,6-4,2-6. Chatterjee will face Anand Prakash Gupta of UP in the quarter finals tomorrow.
2nd seeded Pratyush Mohanty of Odisha had a comparatively easy day today as he outclassed Bengal’s Rishabh Shah by a straight 6-2,6-3. In the quarters tomorrow, Mohanty will meet Bengal’s Rohan Mondal who in turn upset 8th seeded Balabhadra Behera of Odisha by a comfortable 6-0,6-2.
Matches will start from 8:00 am tomorrow.
