Seraikela: A 25 year old youth, identified as Gurwa Pati, died after being knocked down by an unknown vehicle near Ram Krishna Forging on the Seraikela-Kandra route late Thursday night.
Sources said the incident occurred when the deceased was on his way home from a fuel station where he worked. Midway, a speeding vehicle hit and ran him over. Pati died at the scene. His vehicle was mangled in the incident. Local residents informed police about the incident.
The officer in-charge of Seraikela police station Ran Vijay Singh reached the scene and sent the body to government hospital for postmortem examination. He said a case has been lodged against unknown driver in this connection.
