Seraikela: Gram Swaraj Diwas was celebrated in Seraikela on Friday under Adivasi Jan Uthan Abhiyan. It was inaugurated by Zila Parishad president Shakuntala Mahali.
In her address, Mahali said Gram Swaraj Diwas was being celebrated all over Jharkhand. She said the Central and state governments were running various schemes for the development and welfare of Jharkhand and its people. She said 80,000 Sakhi Mandals had been set up in the state. Each Sakhi Mandal has been linked to 15 women, she said.
Also present on the occasion was Anita Sahay, director of DRDA. She said the Adivasi Jan Uthan Abhiyan would be run in the 67 villages of the district till 30th July.
Meanwhile, 38 people were given ownership of Pradhan Mantri Awas units today. Five people were given electricity supply while 15 were given free electricity connections. A total of 195 people were given LED bulbs.
