Jamshedpur, June 9: Daring the ongoing anti-naxal operation across Kolhan, suspected ultras belonging to outlawed outfit People’s Liberation Front of India (PLFI) torched around 13 vehicles of a private company involved in a road construction work.
The incident took place Dalki village near Parilepos under Goilkera police station area on Friday night. According to information, three JCB excavators, one loader, one poclain and five dumpers have been reduced to ashes.
Vehicles belonged to Kolkata-Basu Enterprises, one of the two companies, involved in road construction from Goilkera to Manoharpur. The company is owned by Kolkata-based director Sohanlal Khatri. The area where the incident took place is Maoists infested area.

As the news of attack spread, in the morning West Singhbhum superintendent of police, Anish Gupta rushed to the site to take stock of the situation. Soon after the carrying out the inspection, SP ordered strict vigil in the adjoining areas.
Meanwhile the administration has increased police patrolling on the bordering areas connecting to West Bengal and has also deployed adequate number of paramilitary personnel on areas potential to rebels attack. �Every effort will be made to maintain law and order and to ensure security of the people. This time all security forces have also been alerted to remain vigilant, particularly against IEDs and landmines,” said another official.
All the police stations in the three districts of the division including East and West Singhbhum and Seraikela Kharswan have been asked to beef up the security and keep a vigil at the bordering areas.
