CM expresses concern over slow pace of construction of toilets in East Singhbhum

Shopkeepers removed from Jubilee Park to be rehabilitated, assures CM

Jamshedpur, June 9: Chief Minister Raghubar Das expressed concern over tardiness in construction of toilets in the district. Das on Saturday was reviewing development of the district, block and village levels at local circuit house.

While addressing the officials he said that they need to change their work style. He said that to work for development and to make all-round development is the need of the hour. Tata Steel would have to complete the task on time to declare the district as a complete ODF.

Expressing his displeasure at the slow pace of construction of toilets in the construction of the toilet under the CSR, the chief minister ordered to improve work policy and complete the number of toilets in a targeted number at time.

Describing the work of the construction of toilets under the Clean India Mission Urban and Rural plan, the Deputy Commissioner Amit Kumar said that according to the baseline survey by the district administration, the construction of the toilets will be completed by July 15, 2018. Slip back toilet is to be constructed by Tata Steel under Corporate Social Responsibility. Both the baseline and slip-back toilets should be completed to make the district free of defecation in the open.

Das also reviewed the progress of Rural Moharada Water Supply Scheme, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Prime Minister Ujjwala Yojna, under East Singhbhum.

Reviewing the Moharadan Water Supply Scheme, the Chief Minister said that due to water, malnutrition various diseases flourish. The Chief Minister gave instructions to the Public Relations Department for spreading wide publicity of the enrollement for the connection of water supply.

Under the Prime Minister’s Housing Scheme, the Chief Minister received detailed information on the Devnagar Navajivan Ashram. The Chief Minister gave instructions to complete the work till February 2019 by accelerating the work.

In the course of reviewing Housing Scheme, the Deputy Commissioner informed the Chief Minister that there is a need to provide accommodation to 27000 people, which requires 165 acres of land. Deputy Commissioner said that 35 acres of land has been transferred to the Town Development Department for this.

Chief Minister also directed administration to decide on the shopkeepers removed from Jubilee Park. He said that the shopkeepers should be rehabilitated.
