Jamshedpur, May 30: East Singhbhum district administration has linked two children orphaned during COVID-19 pandemic to the PM Cares for Children Scheme. Deputy Commissioner Vijaya Jadhav said this on Monday during an online address by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Jamshedpur Collectorate. The PM addressed the orphaned kids and spoke about the initiative taken by the Central government for their rehabilitation, care and support.
District officials said the children orphaned from 11th March 2020 onwards are to be linked to the PM Cares for Children Scheme. The details of such children have been uploaded on the Bal Swarajya and PM Cares portals. These children have been linked to the various government schemes for children. A joint bank account of these kids has also been opened in the post office with the Deputy Commissioner. On becoming 23 years old, the kids would get Rs 10 lakh, officials said.
Many senior district administration officials were present during the PM’s address.
