Jamshedpur: The Second Annual Hindustani Classical Music Conference organized by Jamshedpur Music Circle concluded today at the Maharashtra Hitkari Mandal auditorium in Bistupur. Vibha Mishra was the chief guest at the concluding day�s program.
The second day�s proceedings commenced with Anil Kumar Singh�s vocal rendition. Guru Mihir Banerjee on tabla and Birendra Upadhyay on the harmonium provided the accompaniment.
Popular flutist Ashok Das presented Raga Kirwani followed by Raga Mishr Khamboj. Accompanying him on tabla was Swarup Moitra. Das�s mastery on the flute and Moitra�s deft tabla play came in full form during the �sawaal-jawab� piece that had the already captivated audience in a trance. The whole auditorium resounded with the clapping of a house full audience that also had many connoisseurs of music.
Vocalist Laboni Dutta rendered Raga Bageshri. Pradip Bhattacharjee on the tabla and Pankaj Jha on harmonium accompanied her in her rendition.
The final presentation came from versatile danseuse Navamita Chowdhury who performed a Kathak dance which cast a spell on the audience. Her facial and eyes expressions combined with her mudras were authoritative and at the same time awe-inspiring.
The success of the program was ensured by the members of Jamshedpur Music Circle.
