Jamshedpur, August 4: Tulsi Jayanti was organized on Thursday at Motilal Nehru Public School (MNPS) in the forms of competitive events that included fancy dress, painting, collage creation, puppet making, chaupal, role play, essay, speech and Hanuman Chalisa recitation. The events were organized by the MNPS Hindi department. The competitions were open for all students of MNPS.
The Tulsi Jayanti celebration was inaugurated by the chief guest, Dr Padma Mishra. The proceedings commenced with Ganesh Vandana followed by bhajan renditions and a dance drama by the school students.
MNPS Principal, Ashu Tiwari, while appreciating the efforts of the Hindi Department, observed, “The great saint and poet, Goswami Tulsidas is believed to be the incarnation of Maharshi Valmiki who wrote the original version of the epic Ramayana in Sanskrit. Celebration of Tulsi Jayanti invokes in children the moral values of Ramayana that include the characteristics of sacrifice, patience, tolerance and values.”
Chief guest Dr Padma Mishra lauded the students for their multi-hued talents and expressed the hope that they would continue to shine and improve with the years.
Seventy students who were winners in the various events were awarded prizes. The audience included chief guest Dr Padma Mishra, MNPS Principal Ashu Tiwary, UP Sangh members, the School Faculty, coordinators and students.
