Jamshedpur, August 4: BJP Sonari Mandal President Prashant Poddar headed a team of unit members that inspected Anganwadi centres in Roopnagar, Nirmal Nagar and four others to take note of the status of children studying in these centres as also the Anganwadi workers. The delegation was surprised to note that some of the workers had not been paid their honorariums for the last five months leading to growing financial constraints for their families. Certain centres had no power supply while still others had negligible students’ presence. Anganwadi Sevikas at these centres were asked to mobilize more student participation. The BJP Sonari Mandal delegation members stated that they would make a note of the prevailing constraints and anomalies and hand them to MP Bidyut Baran Mahto to resolve the issues. They also stated that they would meet the high officials responsible for running of Anganwadi units and demand improvement in facilities at these centres.
