Tributes paid to Baba Tilka Majhi

Jamshedpur: Samajik Seva Sangh on Thursday paid rich tributes to Indian freedom fighter Baba Tilka Majhi who took up arms against the British, on the occasion of his birth anniversary at Dimna on February 11. Those present were Rajesh Samant, Sopon Karua, Bhupati Sardar, Kisno Hembrom, Lili Hembrom, JMM women leader Jharna Pal, Asha Devi, Asha Ram and others.

It is worth mentioning that Tilka Majhi was the first to blow the bugle of revolt against the British. He had proposed a long battle and raised a strong voice against English rule for their heinous acts of brutality. He was the first to blow the bugle of revolt against the British. This heroic freedom fighter was arrested in 1785 and was then hanged till death.
