Jamshedpur, Feb 9: Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce and Industries (SCCI) organized a seminar on challenges posed by e-Commerce and tips for success in trade here at Chamber Bhavan auditorium, Bistupur. The main speakers of the seminar were Professor Sanjeev Varshney and Professor Santosh Sangam from XLRI Xavier School of Management, Jamshedpur.
The speakers gave useful tips to the participants on effective ways to deal with the challenges being faced by them in the field of trade and commerce and also guided them on how to take their businesses to the top.
Professor Varshney said the traders should wake up now and that there was no use cursing the e-commerce companies. He said the traders should prepare themselves at the same level. He said around 50 per cent of the population were now shopping online. The traders should adopt customer first policy and should focus on returns on investment (RoI) and not on profit margin. There is need to change the mindset and learn data management, he said.

Professor Sangam advised traders not to fear e-commerce companies and instead work in a planned manner. He said even traditional businesses could see meteoric rise through positive thinking. He said the focus should now shift from profit to turnover.
The welcome speech was delivered by SCCI president Vijay Anand Moonka while an introductory speech was given by vice president (trade and commerce) Nitesh Dhut.

Other dignitaries present at the seminar included Manav Kedia, Anil Modi, Mukesh Mittal, Kishor Golchha, Piyush Choudhary, Dilip Goyal, Bharat Makani, Nawal Kishore Baranwal, Satyanarayaan Agrawal Munnda, Satish Singh, Santokh Singh, Chandrakant Jatakiya, Pawwan Sharma, Bajrang Lal Agrawal and Anand Choudhary.
