Jamshedpur, Dec. 7: The annual sports day of DBMS Kadma High School was held on Friday. Abhishek and his team of prominent sportsmen, who have brought various accolades to the school, lit the torch and Manish Mukhi, the school sports minister took the sportsman’s oath.
The senior students marched in co-ordination to the beats of the school band. The Chief Guest, Aruna Mishra (Inspector, Jharkhand Police and International Boxer) declared the Sports Meet open by releasing the balloons.
There were various events for the junior and senior students like sack race, dribble the ball, Jalebi Race, Frooti Time etc. There was a drill display by the girls of Std VI, VII and VIII adding vigour to the sports day by dancing to the Latin American dance form of Zumba. The senior students participated in the Tug of War and Relays.
“Self belief and hard work will always deliver success.” There were cheers of joy while the winners took their trophies.
Best athlete (junior boys) was awarded to Raj Kumar of class 9 and Ashrar of class 8. Best athlete (senior boys) was won by Roshan of class 11 and harsh of class 12.
Best athlete (junior girls) Vishaka of class 9 and Aakriti of class 10.
Best Athlete (senior girls) was won by Pratiksha of class 11 and Chandrika & Diya of class 12. Trophy for the best squad was won by class 12. Topaz House bagged the overall championship trophy and Emerald House won the runners-up title.
The chairperson of the DBMS Board of Trustees, Bhanumati Neelakantan graced the occasion with her presence along with the members of the Managing Committee, B Chandrashekhar (Joint Chairperson Finance), Lalitha Chandrashekhar (Joint Chairperson, Administration and President), Jyoti Sarangi (Secretary), Bhuvna Krishnan (Treasurer), Uma Ramani (Joint Secretary), Jyoti Raja (Committee Member) Meena Bugli (Principal) and Prema Mohan (Vice Principal).
