Jamshedpur, Sep 8: Jharkhand is bracing for turbulent weather conditions as the Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for thunderstorms and rain across the state over the next 24 hours. The warning indicates that adverse weather conditions are likely to persist until September 12.

A low-pressure area in the Bay of Bengal has intensified into a depression, located approximately 410 km south of Digha, West Bengal. This development is anticipated to bring significant rainfall to the plains over the coming days.

The Indian Meteorological Center has also issued an orange alert for heavy rain in specific districts. On September 10 and 11, districts such as Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Malkangiri, and Koraput in Odisha are expected to experience heavy to very heavy rainfall. Jharkhand will also be affected, with potential heavy rains forecasted for various regions, particularly in the southern parts of the state.

In Jharkhand, the Meteorological Department has predicted that districts including Ranchi, Bokaro, Gumla, Hazaribagh, Khunti, and Ramgarh will likely witness heavy rainfall. The capital city, Ranchi, may experience intermittent waves of rain accompanied by thunderstorms. The adverse weather conditions are expected to continue through September 12.

An orange alert has been issued for September 10, with heavy to very heavy rains expected in Lohardaga, Simdega, and Gumla districts.
