Jadugora, Feb. 20: Uranium Corporation of India Limited (UCIL) Narwapahar Visthapit Evam Prabhavit Kalyan Samiti organised a two-day football tournament which concluded on Sunday.
The tournament held at Narwa UCIL Colony football ground saw Aadim Samaj Patharchakdi (Narwa) crowned the winner while Beer Beyar Sporting Club Domjudi was the runner-up.
The winner team received Rs 30 thousand as cash award while the runner-up got cash award of Rs 25 thousand. The awards were given away by JMM leader Rodeya Soren.
The third place was bagged by the team from Murgaghutu while team from Chiabasa was fourth. Total of 64 teams had participated in the tournament.
Chief Guest for the occasion Baharagora MLA Kunal Sarangi encouraged the players and said that the players will only be benefitted after a football academy is set up in Jharkhand.
The Chief Minister and Governor have been written about the same.
