Steel Express to Get More Coaches

Jamshedpur, April 24: Passengers traveling from Tatanagar can soon look forward to a Vande Bharat Express train equipped with sleeper coaches, a first for the region. Until now, only chair car variants of the Vande Bharat trains had been operational from Tatanagar, including routes like Tatanagar-Ranchi-Howrah, Tatanagar-Berhampur, and Tatanagar-Rourkela.
In view of growing passenger demand for long-distance travel, the railways was planning to launch Vande Bharat services from Tatanagar to Varanasi and Bilaspur, both with sleeper coach facilities.
The survey for the Tatanagar– Varanasi route has been completed. As per the proposed schedule, the train would depart from Tatanagar in the morning, reach Banaras by afternoon, and return to Tatanagar at night. The train would travel via Purulia, Bokaro, Gomoh, Gaya and Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Nagar. Meanwhile, the survey for the Tatanagar–Bilaspur route was underway, with the proposed route going through Chakradharpur, Rourkela, and Jharsuguda. An official announcement regarding both trains was expected soon.
In a related development, the Steel Express running between Tatanagar and Howrah would be expanded to accommodate more passengers. From May 1, the train will include an additional general coach and a third AC coach. This upgrade was being introduced to meet the increasing passenger load, particularly in the general category, and was expected to offer better seating availability.
These enhancements marked a significant step in improving long-distance and daily travel facilities for passengers in the region.

Good progress and development from Indian Railways. Need more focus on removal encroachments before main entry of Railway station.
Very impressive, I’m looking forward for Ranchi to New Delhi vande Bharat express, please think about it too.
