Tatanagar: Disruption in train services due to development work

Jamshedpur, Dec 6: Ongoing railway development projects have significantly impacted rail traffic from Tatanagar, prompting authorities to cancel and divert several trains. The interruption is primarily due to construction work on the third line at Kanhan station, located between Rajnandgaon to Kalmana division in Nagpur under the South East Central Railway. Sixteen trains are cancelled until December 16, affecting travel plans for many passengers.

Simultaneously, development work in the Vijayawada division has led to a rolling block, exacerbating the disruption. As a result, two prominent trains running from Tatanagar to South India, namely the Tata SMV Bengaluru Express and Tata Yesvantpur Express, will be diverted from their regular routes. Passengers are urged to take note of the altered schedule, with the Tata SMV Bengaluru Express running on December 8 and 15, and the Tata Yesvantpur Express on December 7 and 14 via Nidadavelu Bhimavaram Gudivada Vijayawada.

The impact of the one-week rolling block in Adra is widespread, leading to cancellations and diversions. Notable cancellations include the Tata Itwari Express (4th to 12th December), Itwari Tata Express (6th to 14th December from Howrah), Mumbai Express (8th December from Howrah), CSMT Mumbai to Howrah Express (10th December), Shalimar to Okha Express (10th December from Okha), Shalimar-Okha Express (12th December from Shalimar), Hatia LTT Mumbai Express (8th and 9th December), LTT to Hatia Express (10th and 11th December), Santragachi to Pune Humsafar Express (9th December), Pune to Santragachi Express (11th December), Hazur Saheb Nanded (NED) Santragachi (4th and 11th December), Santragachi to Hazur Saheb Nanded (NED) (6th and 13th December), Malda Town to Surat Express (2nd and 9th December), Surat to Malda Town Express (4th and 11th December), Lokmanya Tilak to Shalimar Express (8th, 9th, 11th, and 12th December), and Shalimar to Lokmanya Tilak Express (10th, 11th, 13th, and 14th December).

Passengers are strongly advised to review the updated schedules and plan their journeys accordingly, considering the ongoing disruptions in rail services. The railway authorities express regret for any inconvenience caused and assure passengers of efforts to restore normalcy at the earliest.
