Jamshedpur, August 17: The South Eastern Railway Zone has ordered a survey and detailed project report (DPR) for the doubling of the Tatanagar to Badampahar rail line. This development follows prior inclusion in the three-year action plan and discussions involving Jharkhand’s Governor and Jamshedpur MP Bidyut Baran Mahto. The doubling aims to address the growing need for efficient mineral transportation and passenger services. Additionally, the survey will include new lines in West Bengal and Odisha. This project is expected to enhance connectivity, reduce travel time, and support increased rail traffic on the crucial Howrah-Mumbai and Odisha routes.

New centre for mineral transportation and revenue

Preparations are underway to establish a new centre for mineral transportation and revenue in Badampahar, Odisha. The centre will connect various key locations, including Amlajodi, Gurumahisani, and Nayagarh, facilitating smoother transit of goods to Paradip port. Recently, the Prime Minister approved new railway lines from Badampahar to Keonjhar and Gurumahisani to Bangriposi. These expansions aim to manage the rising train loads on major routes and reduce travel times to Puri and Bhubaneswar.
