Tata Steel contractor’s car shot at in Kadma

Jamshedpur, Jan 30: Members of jailed gangster Akhilesh Singh are suspected to have shot at the car of a Tata Steel contractor in Shastrinagar area under Kadma thana area on the intervening period of Friday night and Saturday.

According to report, Tata Steel supplier Rishikesh Chandra car parked in the garage was targeted by unidentified criminals who fired three rounds on the car. Fortunately no one was hurt. On getting information, Kadma police reached the site and recovered a live cartridge and two empty cartridges. The bullets were stuck in the rear seat of the car. Police scanned the CCTV footages and saw a youth going to and fro near the car.

The manner in which the firing has been done proves that they wanted to create fear among the contractors. It is also believed that it might be linked to extortion. There are information that a threatening letter was also recovered from the spot.

Though nobody in the Shastrinagar locality could tell the exact time and nature in which the  incident took place.

Significantly, Rishikesh Chandra had earlier too received intimidation but he had not taken it seriously. Police are suspecting the role of Sonu Singh behind the crime and have started raids for the criminal and have also detained few persons in this connection.  Police have also found certain suspicious numbers from the mobile phone of Rishikesh Chandra and are trying to trace the locations of these numbers.

DSP headquarter II Arvind Kumar Singh refused to say anything on the case investigation to the media.
