Manoharpur, Jan 30: In a macabre incident at Manoharpur block of West Singhbhum district, a son had killed his mother and burnt her corpse and roasted chicken on the pyre of his mother for eating it.
The son who is mentally deranged has been identified as Pradhan Soy (35) a resident of Jojoguttu village of Manoharpur block who had four years ago had killed his father Gopal Soy too and had been to jail and had recently been out of jail.
The youth had killed his 60-year-old mother Sumi Soy in the courtyard of their house and burnt her corpse and on the pyre roasted chicken and then ate. The son was in his house and on Saturday morning when his sister saw the half burnt body and informed the villagers who handed over the youth to the Manoharpur police.
