Jamshedpur, July 29: Jharkhand State Karate Do Association organized 2nd Jharkhand State Open Karate Championship 2022 at JRD Tata Sports Complex, Jamshedpur on July 27-28 on the occasion of 118th birth anniversary celebration of JRD Tata.
This Championship was supported by Tata Steel Sports Department, Jamshedpur. Karatekas from all districts of Jharkhand participated in this Championship. Altogether 215 karatekas, both Boys and Girls participated. 52 karaketas of Tata Steel Karate Training Centre participated in the Championship.
This championship was held under the supervision of L. Nageshwar Rao, Chief Coach, Tata Steel Karate Training Centre. Tata Steel Karate Training Centre performed well and bagged title of overall championship as they won 31 medals including 13 Gold, 10 Silver and 8 Bronze.
Ashish Kumar, Head, Sports and Anand Menezes distributed medals and certificates among the winners.
They encouraged the participants and emphasized on importance of sports in life.
L. Nageshwar Rao, Chief Coach, Tata Steel Karate Training Centre, thanked Ashish Kumar, Head, Sports and Anand Menezes for their support in organizing the championship.
Firoz Khan, Handball Coach, Hassan Imam, Basketball Coach, T. Vasudeo Rao, Golf Coach, and others were present.
