JRD Tata’s 118th birth anniversary
Jamshedpur, July 29: Tata Steel Sports Department organised Walkathon for the citizens of Jamshedpur to celebrate the 118th birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna JRD Tata. The event was organised at the JRD Tata Sports Complex. The participants (male & female) were segregated in to the 4 age group categories– Below 30 years, between 30-45 years, between 45-60 years and above 60 years age groups.
The Walkathon was for 2 kms distance for all the age groups other than the above 60 years. The distance for above 60 years age group was 1.2 kms. A total of 248 participants from across the city participated in the walkathon.

K Vijay Shankar, City SP, Jamshedpur graced the occasion as Chief Guest and gave away the prizes to all winners.
In above 60 years men 1.2 km event -Swapan Kumar Dey was the winner followed by Dr Har Bilash Das and Sumit Chatterjee.

Tapti Chatterjee was the winner in above 60 years women 1.2 km event. Ravindra Kaur Bhatia bagged the second prize and Utpala Ghatuary was third.
In 45-60 years men 2 km event S Srinivas win the first prize, Vikash Patnaik was second while Ajay Tiwary was third. In the same event for women S M Barla was first followed by Sujata and Kumari Archana Sinha.
Ram Lakhan Das won the first prize in 30-45 years men 2 km event, Satyabrata Mishra was second while Bipin Kumar was third. In the same event for women Nitu Prabha was first, Sonal Mishra second and Rupa Nandy third.

In upto 30 years men 2 km event Satyam Pandey bagged the first prize followed by Shivam Singh and Abdul Qadir. In the same event for women Sweta Singh was first followed by Deean Palia and Arvita
