Tata Steel announces sports scholarships for employees’ children

Jamshedpur: In a commendable initiative, Tata Steel has introduced sports scholarships for the sons and daughters of its employees, aiming to encourage and support their athletic endeavors. The announcement, conveyed through a circular issued by the Chief Sports Officer, outlines the details of the scholarship program.

Employees interested in availing the sports scholarship for their children can submit their applications via email until the 31st of January. The scholarship is open in two categories – one for individuals below 20 years of age and the other for those below 25 years of age. Successful applicants will receive financial assistance of Rs 10,000 per month for a duration of 12 months. Those falling under the second category will be granted Rs 6,000 per month for the same period.

Exceptional recognition awaits those who achieve success at the international level, securing victories in prestigious tournaments and earning significant national medals. Individuals achieving this distinction will receive an enhanced scholarship amount of Rs 10,000 per month. Additionally, those securing medals at the national level will be awarded Rs 6,000 per month.
To ensure fairness and transparency in the selection process, a five-member investigation team has been established. This team will thoroughly review all applications and determine the deserving recipients of the sports scholarship.
