Tata Motors Jamshedpur begin Premier Division campaign with emphatic 7-1 victory over Classic Eight

Jamshedpur, June 16: Tata Motors made a resounding start to their Premier Division campaign with a commanding 7-1 victory against Classic 8 at the JRD Sports Complex in the first match of JSA Premier Division League on Tuesday. Dinesh Hembrom and Rohit Tigga scored braces, while Ranjit Mardi also struck twice as Tata Motors overwhelmed their opponents with an impressive attacking display.

Tata Motors took the lead in the 14th minute through Dinesh Hembrom before Classic 8 responded with an equaliser from Bunti Mukhi in the 26th minute. The scores remained level at the break, but Tata Motors came out firing in the second half. Somchand Hansda restored the lead three minutes after the restart, setting the tone for a dominant spell. Dinesh Hembrom added his second goal in the 58th minute before Ranjit Mardi struck twice in quick succession in the 63rd and 68th minutes to put the contest beyond doubt. Rohit Tigga then capped off the performance with a late brace, finding the net in the 75th and 76th minutes as Tata Motors completed a comprehensive six-goal second-half blitz. The convincing win sees Tata Motors open their Premier Division season in style, while Classic 8 will look to regroup after a difficult start to their campaign.

Mukul Choudhari, Chief Sports, Tata Steel, and Working President of the Jamshedpur Sporting Association (JSA), along with Capt. Manish Sinha, Head Sports (Events & Training Centres), Tata Steel, and Vice President of JSA, inaugurated the opening match of the JSA Football League 2026 and extended their greetings to the participating players.

Also present on the occasion were V. Ramkrishna, Secretary, JSA, along with members of the JSA Committee, namely Dr. Hassan Imam, Firoz Khan, S.B. Singh, Sagar Mukhi, Roshan Minz,  Madhu Mahato,  Vivek Prasad, Bagun Besra, Miller Routh, S.K. De, Navin Sundi, Pradeep Mishra, Victor Somaya, and Arun Sinha. Their presence added significance to the inauguration and reflected the collective commitment towards the successful conduct of the league.
