Jamshedpur, Dec 10: The Steel Workers Welfare Society (SWWS)today entered into a new arena of consumerism by starting a Suvidha Cloth Store at Shop No. 3, Line No. 11, in Bistupur market just next to Suvidha Gift Centre.
The centre was inaugurated today by Suresh Dutt Tripathi, Vice President, Human Resources Management, Tata Steel.
The Cloth Centre will be open all days except Mondays & National Holidays and one can shop all types of Sarees, Lehenga, Salwar Suit,Trouser, Jeans, Blankets, Bedsheets, Shirts, T-Shirts and Artificial Jewellers at a cheaper price than elsewhere.
Tata Steel and other Associate Companies employees availing Gift Vouchers can use it at this shop. Rajesh Chintak, President, Steel Workers Welfare Society, B P Singh, Hony Secretary, SWWS, Santosh Agrawal, Manager, SWWS, Rajnish Kumar, Senior Manager, Societies, Tata Steel and staff and union members of The Steel Workers Welfare Society were present at the inaugural function.
The Steel Workers’ Welfare Society became functional in 1980 to cater to the basic requirment of Company’s employees and citizens of Jamshedpur.
It currently operates ten Suvidha General Stores where mainly grocery, cosmetic items, food and beverages are avialbale, one Suvidha Gift Centre at Bistupur and one Suvidha Cloth Centre which got inaugurated today.
