Jamshedpur, Nov 26: Social organization Surabhi, the women’s wing of Marwari Yuva Manch (MYV) Steel City, is known for its social concerns and actions to help the poor and needy during distress calls. The members of Surabhi ably led by the unit’s president Manisha Sanghi adroitly managed the marriage proceedings of 11 girls from economically hit families. The function was held on Thursday on the auspicious occasion of Tulsi Vivah at the Kasidih DSM School of Excellence premises in the presence of elite guests who included popular religious script narrator from Vrindavan Acharya Rajendra Maharaj, legislator Mangal Kalindi, senior BJP leader Abhay Singh, Surabhi president Manisha Sanghi, secretary Usha Chowdhary, programme convener Sneha Agrawal, social activist Ashok Bhalotia, Govind Mewar, Rajkumar Chanduka, Dinesh Agrawal and Nand Kishor Agrawal. All the guests were presented shawls and Tulsi saplings. The entire proceedings were anchored jointly by Babli Shah, Muskan Agrawal and media in-charge Kavita Agrawal.

The guests on the dais lauded the humanitarian work being pursued by Surabhi through various endeavors to alleviate the pangs of the poor and helpless communities. They assured their help and cooperation to the Surabhi team at all times. Acharya Rajendra Maharaj while complementing the Surabhi members for their efforts especially through the COVID pandemic period said, “The members under the able and astute leadership of Manisha Sanghi risked their lives to reach out to hapless people and communities. They are the angels of God.”

Family members and relatives of the brides and grooms participated in the mass marriage organized on Thursday. The Surabhi team had made all the preparations for the happy occasion. After the marriages were solemnized, each couple was presented household necessities to launch on a new phase of life.

Social worker Teji Singh, Zila Agrawal Sammelan president Santosh Agrawal, Zila Marwari Sammelan general secretary Ashok Modi, Marwari Sammelan Sakchi branch president Omprakash Ringasia, state convener Arun Gupta, MYM Steel City president Vishnu Goyal, general secretary Prashant Goyal, Marwari Mahila Manch district president Seema Jawanpuria, general secretary Rani Agrawal and other prominent members of the society were present to bless the newly wedded couples. A feast was organized for the guests, the newly wedded couples and their family members and relatives.

The government guidelines on COVID prevention were in place during the event. The new couples travelled on motorbikes to avaid crowding.

The couples who stepped into the next chapter of life

In keeping with tradition, the girls were given in marriage (Kanyadaan) to the groom by couples who continue to contribute to society in various ways.

Lord Krishna is the embodiment of knowledge, intelligence and love: Acharya

Narrator Acharya Rajendra Maharaj elucidating the chapter of Krishna-Rukmini Vivah (marriage) observed, “The embodiment of knowledge, intelligence and love in human beings is Lord Krishna. He descended among mortals to perform many miracles through his childhood pranks. Kans was the personification of ego which the Lord destroyed by killing him. It was Lord Krishna Who, through the Great War of Mahabharata established religion.”

The Acharya was explaining the episode on Krishna-Rukmini Vivah after the mass marriage ceremony’s conclusion at the DSM School of Excellence ground. He further explained, “Those who participate in Krishna-Rukmini marriage celebrations by attending and listening to the Katha (narration) on the topic are blessed with perennial peace and harmony in their conjugal life. Unmarried girls who listen to this Rukmini Katha get good husbands and good homes and they are blessed with a happy married life.”

He said that mortals were parts of the Creator and were endowed with unfathomable sources of strength and the only thing they lacked was resolve. “If a mortal lacks resolve but is free of sinful thoughts, the Lord will certainly help him,” and giving and example explained, “Rukmini’s brother had arranged her marriage with Sishupal. She refused to marry him stating that he was not true and could not be trusted. She had resolved to Marry Gopal, the king of Dwarika (Lord Shri Krishna). The Lord consented and married her.”
