147 players compete in CISCE Zonal Carrom Meet
Andhra Association English School hosts two-day tournament in Jamshedpur
Jamshedpur, July 4: The two-day CISCE Zonal Carrom Tournament concluded at Andhra Association English School on Saturday with the participation of around 147 boys and girls from various schools across the Jamshedpur zone.
The tournament served as the selection event for the Jamshedpur zonal team, which will represent the zone at the upcoming CISCE Regional Carrom Tournament.
The prize distribution ceremony was attended by Major K. Satyanarayan, international handball coach Hasan Imam Malik, Y.K. Sharma, Principal Piyali Mukherjee, Vice-Principal Utpala Ghoshal, D.P. Balmiki, Venu Gopal, V. Arun Kumar and other dignitaries.
In the girls’ events, Pooja Mahato (JH Tarapore) won the Under-14 singles title, while Payal Ghosh (Church School Beldih) claimed the Under-17 singles crown. Suhani Kamal (KPS Gamharia) emerged champion in the Under-19 singles category.
In the boys’ section, Md. Umar Beg (Andhra Association English School) won the Under-14 singles title, Md. Saifuddin Asadak (Andhra Association English School) secured the Under-17 singles title, and Aditya Kumar (Church School Beldih) emerged winner in the Under-19 singles category.
The winners and top performers will now represent the Jamshedpur zone in the regional championship.
