Jamshedpur, July 21: District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Jamshedpur, organized a legal awareness camp at Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Skill Development Centre on NH33 under NALSA Scheme 10 on Sunday. The chief guest of the programme was First Class Judicial Magistrate Shikha Rani Tigga of Jamshedpur Civil Court. She informed the participants about the hazards of substance abuse and its adverse impact on health and society. She said there are many laws to deal with addiction of various kinds. Those found guilty of flouting these laws can face jail, fine or both.
Tigga said addiction not only ruins one�s personal life but also serves to create criminal tendency in a person. She went on to add that addiction causes altercation in families and also leads to legal problems. She said a public awareness campaign is necessary to address the issue effectively.
Among others present on the occasion included Nitai Chandra Gorai, Mahanand Singh, Nagendra Kumar and Ankit Verma.
