Student found dead in hostel room

Godda: In a distressing incident, the lifeless body of a student was discovered hanging from the roof of the Harijan hostel at Godda College. The Godda Nagar police station swiftly responded to the information, reaching the scene on Wednesday morning to retrieve the body from the noose.

The deceased has been identified as Amarkant Kumar, the son of Shrikant Das and a resident of Sarva village in the Paureyahat police station area. The police promptly transported the body to Sadar Hospital Godda for post-mortem examination. Amarkant, the elder son of his family, was a final-year BA student at Godda College and had returned to his village just a day before the tragic incident.

Shrikant Das, the grieving father, made a startling claim, alleging that his son was murdered by fellow students. He emphasized that Amarkant had returned home the day before, displaying no signs of distress or agitation. However, a lime mark on the back of his son’s pants raised suspicions of foul play, indicating he may have been dragged. Additionally, the neatly placed slippers hinted at a possible struggle.

Presently, the police have registered a case and are awaiting the post-mortem report for further insights. The investigation will delve into the circumstances surrounding Amarkant Kumar’s untimely demise and the veracity of the allegations made by his father. The Godda College community mourns the loss of a promising student as authorities work to unravel the mystery behind this tragic incident.
