Jharkhand mourns the loss of national level footballer Rajkishore Baski

Dumka: The football community in Jharkhand is in mourning as Rajkishore Baski, a renowned national-level football player, has passed away at the age of 55. A resident of Kurumpahari village in Dumka Sadar block, Rajkishore showcased exceptional skills in numerous national-level competitions from 1986 to 1990. He succumbed to illness on Tuesday evening after battling health issues for the past few days.
Rajkishore Baski left an indelible mark on the football landscape, having served as the captain of the football team at Bhagalpur University. Under his leadership, the university clinched the East Zone Championship at Barabati Stadium, Cuttack. His dedication to the sport was further evident as he represented Dumka district 15 times in the Moinul Haq Trophy, playing a pivotal role in securing victories with his enthusiasm. His contributions extended beyond the field, as he also served as a member of the Referee Association, maintaining a lifelong association with the beautiful game.
Born on January 1, 1968, Rajkishore Baski received his education at St. Joseph’s High School, Guhiyajori, and successfully completed his matriculation in 1984. The football fraternity remembers him not only for his on-field prowess but also for his enduring commitment to the sport, leaving behind a legacy that will be cherished by fellow players and fans alike.
