CBSE schools introduce parent feedback system on report cards for holistic development

Ranchi: In a progressive move aligned with the new education policy, CBSE schools have implemented a system where parents will provide feedback on their children’s report cards. The CBSE directive emphasizes a collaborative effort between teachers and parents to ensure the all-round development of students. This initiative aims to actively involve parents in their children’s academic journey, fostering an environment conducive to enhanced performance in subsequent classes. The new policy is slated for implementation from the upcoming academic session, with teachers across all schools undergoing training to facilitate its smooth execution.

The evaluation process includes two prototypes designed for children aged 3 to 6 years, focusing on their overall development through curated maps. These maps will serve as a tool for monitoring the child’s progress systematically, aligning with age-appropriate milestones. The report cards will now feature comprehensive information about the child and their parents, enabling a multi-faceted evaluation.

CBSE has issued specific guidelines for teachers responsible for classes 01 and 02, outlining their roles in this new feedback system. Teachers are trained to utilize the curriculum to provide individual attention, emphasizing not only on academic skills but also on personality development. The curriculum aims to enhance essential skills such as reading, writing, and speaking.
Parents are optimistic about this progressive step. Sarita Dubey, mother of Tanya, a class 4 student at JMM Shyamali, believes that this initiative will provide insights into the diverse talents and abilities of each student. She appreciates the opportunity to identify and address any shortcomings in her child’s education.

Sunita Rani, mother of Ayush Verma, a class 4 student at DAV Alok, expresses enthusiasm for the new policy, emphasizing that it allows parents to actively participate in the overall development of their children. The introduction of the feedback system reflects a holistic approach to education, fostering a collaborative relationship between schools and parents for the betterment of students.
