Strict action against overpricing liquor warns Jharkhand Minister

Ranchi: Jharkhand Excise and Prohibition Minister Yogendra Prasad has issued a stern warning against liquor shops charging above the maximum retail price (MRP). He stated that selling liquor at inflated rates was illegal and strict action would be taken against placement agencies involved in such practices.

The minister urged the public to report any irregularities in liquor sales, assuring immediate action on complaints. This announcement came in response to numerous reports of liquor shops overcharging customers in recent days.

Minister Prasad has also directed departmental officers to enforce strict compliance with pricing regulations and ensure fair practices at government-operated liquor outlets.
