St. Xavier’s College in Ranchi Regains Autonomous Status

Ranchi: St. Xavier’s College in Ranchi has once again achieved autonomous status, as confirmed by a communication from the University Grants Commission (UGC) to the college Principal. While there has been no official notice from Ranchi University on this matter, the autonomy enables St. Xavier’s College to design its curriculum and conduct examinations independently.

This development marks a return to the previous autonomous status enjoyed by St. Xavier’s College, which was scheduled to conclude in 2022. Following the expiration of the autonomous status, the college operated under the jurisdiction of Ranchi University. With the recent notification from the UGC, St. Xavier’s College is poised to resume its academic autonomy, allowing it greater flexibility and control over its educational programs and assessment procedures.
