The CII Global Leadership Centre launched its Women in Manufacturing Future Leaders Fellowship Program in Jamshedpur today. CII Jharkhand is hosting the inaugural cohort’s three-day leadership immersion.
The six-month fellowship supports women working in shop-floor operations, production, technical, quality, and supervisory roles. The program strengthens leadership capabilities to help technical experts advance into managerial positions.
Mr. Diloo Parikh, Chairman of CII Jharkhand, stated that India’s manufacturing ambitions require harnessing the entire workforce. He emphasized moving beyond basic participation to create meaningful leadership opportunities.
Parikh noted that CII Jharkhand proudly hosts the inaugural cohort to inspire future leaders. He urged organizations to build more inclusive and future-ready manufacturing ecosystems across the nation.
The curriculum combines academic expertise from IIM Visakhapatnam with practical guidance from industry leaders. IIM Visakhapatnam delivers training on personal effectiveness, people management, and workplace wellbeing for participants.
Specialized CII units deliver modules on operational excellence, SME competitiveness, and green manufacturing. Industry experts provide practical guidance on career pathways and professional progression within the sector.
Following the initial immersion, fellows will continue their studies through targeted virtual learning sessions. These online modules reinforce operational excellence, sustainability, and effective people management skills.
The program includes an industry field visit to showcase best manufacturing practices in action. Participants will ultimately receive formal certification from IIM Visakhapatnam upon completing the fellowship.
The initiative reflects the vision of the CII Global Leadership Centre based in Amaravati. The Centre collaborates with Andhra Pradesh to develop transformative leaders across multiple economic sectors.
Its broader educational scope includes public governance, business transformation, digital innovation, AI, and healthcare leadership. The program actively establishes structured pathways for women’s long-term career progression.
Through targeted mentorship, the fellowship strengthens India’s overall manufacturing leadership pipeline. The initiative highlights the critical need to invest in female leadership across every operational level.
