Jharkhand minor discloses gang rape after 4 month silence

A 14-year-old girl in West Singhbhum district disclosed a four-month-old gang rape ordeal on Monday after her health severely deteriorated, police confirmed on Tuesday.
The assault reportedly occurred in June near the Chiria Outpost area when four youths seized the isolated minor by a river and forcibly took her away.
The assailants sexually assaulted the girl and threatened to kill her if she informed her family, forcing the terrified minor into four months of silence.
Weeks after the initial attack, a fifth individual—a friend of the original four suspects—also sexually abused the minor while continuing the death threats.
The girl finally revealed the repeated abuse to her family this week when her failing health prompted direct questions from concerned relatives.
Following the disclosure, the family and local villagers approached the Chiria police outpost on Monday and immediately filed a formal complaint.
Police registered an FIR against five named accused under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act and related legal provisions.
Manoharpur Sub-Divisional Police Officer David A. Dodray confirmed the victim is currently undergoing a mandatory medical examination.
Authorities will initiate further legal action immediately after receiving the official medical examination report.
Special police teams are actively conducting raids across potential locations to track down and arrest all five named suspects.
