Jamshedpur, June 19: A 13-year-old girl, a student of Bistupur-based St. Mary’s English School, went missing after she left her house in Parsudih to get a book from one of her friends in the same locality on Saturday afternoon.
The girl, who is the daughter of a railway employee, has taken Rs 4,000 cash and a cell phone along with her before leaving her house.
In this connection, the police have registered a missing person report with the Parsudih police station on Sunday after the minor’s father reported the matter to the police.
Officer-in-charge of Parsudih police station B K Chaturvedi said that they are investing the case. The girl seems to have left her home intentionally.
Chaturvedi said after getting the missing person report, they had circulated the photograph of the girl and details about her appearance over the wireless with a view to trace her whereabouts. Later, a team of police officials had also searched for the girl at the Tatanagar railway station and the Sitaramdera bus stand.
The girl’s father, who is a resident of Radha Nagar in Parsudih, has already inquired at each of his relative’s house in the city as well as outside. But the family is yet to get any clue regarding the missing girl.
“We are in state of shock and don’t know where she is. As she used to bring note-books and course books from the friends, no one suspected her.
But as it became too late we suspected something wrong. Later, we found that a sum of Rs 4,000 was missing from the almirah. A cell-phone was also missing and we doubt she must have taken these along with her,” said the father while talking to reporters.
The father said he and some of his relatives had searched for the girl at the probable places of her visits till midnight. When they did not get any clue to the girl, then only they decided to lodge a missing person report with the Parsudih police station.
A relative said the missing girl, who is a sixth grader of the Bistupur cradle, was average in studies.
