Jamshedpur: The Journalism and Mass Communication students of Srinath University, batch of 2025, undertook an educational tour of the Radio Dhoom 104.8 FM studio to get a first-hand experience of radio broadcasting that included radio production and on-air operations.
The session began with an interaction with RJ Shweta, one of Jharkhand’s most popular radio personalities, who walked students through the entire broadcasting process — from recording and editing to live transmission. With live demonstrations, she showcased techniques in voice modulation, studio operation, and engaging content delivery.
Students also interacted with Buland Ikbal Khan, Senior Manager, and Akhilesh Prasad, Deputy Manager of Radio Dhoom, who shared valuable insights into radio management, teamwork, and the fast-paced dynamics of the broadcasting industry.
Eager to learn, the students participated in recording exercises and tried their hands at operating professional radio equipment. Their enthusiasm and focus earned appreciation from the hosts.
Accompanying the students were Sanjay Bharti, Head of the Department (In-charge), along with Assistant Professors Narmdesh Chandra Pathak and Amit Mishra, who described the visit as a vital bridge between classroom learning and real-world media practices.
The educational tour not only honed students’ technical skills but also offered them an inspiring glimpse into the vibrant and creative world behind the microphone.
