Jamshedpur, June 14: Women beneficiaries of the Maiyan Samman Yojana in East Singhbhum district are set to receive financial assistance for the month of April, bringing relief to nearly 2.86 lakh beneficiaries. The Social Security Department has initiated the necessary procedures to transfer the funds directly into beneficiaries’ bank accounts.
Providing details, Rupa Rani Tirkey, Assistant Director in-charge of the Social Security Department, said that the payment process is currently underway and the amount will soon be credited through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system. She added that technical issues that had delayed the process have been resolved, ensuring greater transparency and smoother fund transfers.
Beneficiaries can check the status of their payments by visiting their nearest bank branch or Pragya Kendra. Officials have advised women to verify their bank account details and keep their documents updated to avoid any inconvenience during the transfer process.
The Maiyan Samman Yojana is one of the Jharkhand government’s key welfare schemes aimed at providing financial support to eligible women and improving their quality of life. Under the scheme, women between 18 and 50 years of age who are permanent residents of Jharkhand can avail the benefits, provided no member of their family is a government employee or an income tax payer.
To apply for the scheme, beneficiaries are required to submit documents such as an Aadhaar card, ration card, bank passbook, voter ID card, and a passport-sized photograph.
The release of the April installment is expected to benefit thousands of families across East Singhbhum, helping women meet their daily expenses and providing much-needed financial support.
