Sreeleathers Jamshedpur pays glowing tribute to its founder on 115th birth anniversary

Jamshedpur: Sreeleathers commemorated the 115th birth anniversary of its visionary founder, Suresh Chandra Dey, with a solemn ceremony at its Bistupur K Road showroom on Tuesday.

The event brought together partners, employees, and distinguished citizens to pay heartfelt tribute to the man whose ideals continue to shape the brand’s enduring legacy.
Addressing the gathering, partner and social worker Shekhar Dey highlighted the company’s deep emotional and historical connection with Jamshedpur, describing the city as the foundation of the Sreeleathers family.

He remarked that just as Tata Steel began its journey in Jamshedpur, Sreeleathers too started here and has since grown into a brand of national and international repute.
Founded in 1952, Sreeleathers began as a modest showroom with a vision that extended far beyond business. Suresh Chandra Dey, a freedom fighter and farsighted entrepreneur, laid the foundation of the institution with a commitment to social welfare, integrity, and principled growth. His values of hard work, honesty, and clarity of purpose have been instrumental in shaping the company’s identity.

Over the past seven decades, Sreeleathers has expanded its footprint across India and steadily established its presence overseas, emerging as a trusted name while staying true to its founding ethos.

The programme was attended by partner Jyotsna Dey and Sushanto Dey, along with others including Surajit Chatterjee, Secretary of Subhash Sanskriti Parishad; Pritilekha Roy of The Milanee, Bistupur; social worker Alpana Bhattacharjee; Jharna Kar of Jharkhand Bengali Samiti; and prominent citizens P.K. Nandy and Bimal Chakraborty.
