Jamshedpur: The East Singhbhum district administration will develop 10 model ponds and launch cage culture-based fish farming at Burudih Dam. Deputy Commissioner Rajiv Ranjan finalized these plans during an inter-departmental review meeting at the Collectorate Auditorium to boost fish production and create sustainable rural livelihoods.
During the fisheries review, Ranjan ordered officials to deploy the cage culture systems and establish the model ponds immediately. Turning to the Cooperation Department, he instructed officials to coordinate with millers to clear nearly 35,000 quintals of paddy from LAMPS centres by June 15. Following reports that the Baharagora region collects 5,000 litres of milk daily, Ranjan directed the expansion of dairy infrastructure to boost farmers’ incomes.
For the upcoming Kharif season, Ranjan ordered the Lead District Manager to fast-track Kisan Credit Card loan approvals. He also directed the Animal Husbandry Department to accelerate livestock distribution, including goats and poultry. Finally, Ranjan instructed the Horticulture and Land Conservation departments to expand gardener training, promote high-value strawberry and beekeeping projects, and physically verify beneficiaries using government-subscribed deep boring and tractor equipment.
