SPIC MACAY’s Puppet Show enthralls JPS students

Jamshedpur, Oct 12: Jamshedpur Public School (JPS) hosted the Puppet Show organised by SPIC MACAY, Jamshedpur Chapter. ‘VIRASAT-2015’ began with the mesmerising performances by a young & vibrant artist Salil Bhatt. 

Followed was an art-form which is very unique and was admired by kindergarten kids as well as the mature audiences and art connoisseurs.  A puppet show which is popular with the name of “Dolls Theatre”.

Taming of the Wild- the play consisted of four episodes including: The World Within, Floral Tribute, Movement in Wilderness and Call of the Wild.

The World Within- The luminous water dances in the sunlight. The spectrum embraces every creature. The fun and frolic go on. The Mama fish and Papa fish peak and run. Floral Tribute- The lush green Tree stands proudly in the greenery of Mother Nature.

The bees flutter around it and steal honey. Birds sing to it while the butterfly spreads its silky wings and caresses it. Movements in Wilderness- A spider walks leisurely and the string cries out leaving a resonance behind. A bird flying merrily changes the course of its flight and curiously lands on the Tabla…..

Call of The Wild- On the shores of the Ocean, Nature is in ecstasy. The sea is in ruptures. The crane spouses dance to the rhythm of the bellowing waves. The meek seashell holding a glittering pearl in its womb lies idly on the shore, basking in the warmth of the sun.

The students of Jamshedpur Public School enjoyed every bit of the programme which presented an enthralling & unique performance of the puppeteers.

Dolls Theatre is a Puppet Theatre Group headed by Sudip Gupta of Kolkata who happens to be India’s most contemporary creative puppeteer belongs to the non-conventional puppet which conglomerates both, the modern and the traditional.

The circuit of Dolls Theatre group which commenced on 5th October from Ranchi and moved to other cities like, Netarhat, Patratu, Hazaribagh, Dhanbad, Bokaro & Jamshedpur in Jharkhand, before they end-up the circuit by14th October.

On the occasion by Sudip Gupta said, using the medium of modern puppet theatre the puppeteers endeavor to create an elementary, generally understandable visual language.

The dramatization of the contents is done by non-verbal means; by precise movement of the puppets, by playing with form and colour and by loud and soft sound effects.
