Special children create heart-warming art at Bal Mela in Jamshedpur

Mail News Service

Jamshedpur, Nov 15: The Fourth Bal Mela witnessed touching moments as special children from School of Hope, Asha Kiran, PATH, Start, Jivika, Cheshire Home, School of Joy, Gyanoday and PAMHJ participated in a lively drawing session on the main stage. The same platform, inaugurated a day earlier by the Finance Minister, was reserved to give these children special attention and comfort.

As the children settled in to draw, their spontaneous conversations filled the atmosphere with warmth. An older special girl repeatedly wished everyone “Good morning,” receiving more responses each time, leaving her delighted before she began drawing.

The children chatted freely as they worked. One remarked cheerfully, “It’s so nice here… children everywhere.” Another corrected him, saying, “Not just children, their parents too.” A humorous debate broke out over colours when one child complained about having only ten shades while another proudly revealed sixteen crayons hidden in his pocket. “Count them—sixteen! One more than you!” he said joyfully.

Amid lighthearted exchanges, the young participants painted according to what they had been taught, coloured their artwork with enthusiasm and later moved around the mela exploring various stalls. Their presence brought joy and inclusivity to the festival atmosphere.
