Jamshedpur’s Tanisha Goutam to interact with PM Modi at India’s First Commercial Semiconductor Chip Launch

Jamshedpur, July 3: Tanisha Goutam, a young engineer from Jamshedpur, is set to become part of a historic moment in India’s technology journey as she will interact directly with Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the launch of the country’s first ‘Made in India’ commercial semiconductor chip on July 4.

The Prime Minister will inaugurate the CG Semicon OSAT plant at Sanand in Gujarat, where the first batch of India’s commercially manufactured semiconductor chips will be flagged off for the global market. The event will be broadcast live on national television channels and digital platforms.

Tanisha, who is currently working as a Diploma Engineer Trainee at CG Semi in Sanand, has been selected to interact with the Prime Minister during the programme. Modi is expected to speak with engineers, technicians, and employees involved in the project, and Tanisha will share her experience of working on India’s first commercial semiconductor manufacturing initiative.

A native of Jamshedpur, Tanisha completed her schooling at Kendriya Vidyalaya, Tatanagar, before pursuing a diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from NTTF-TSTI. She began her professional career with Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories in Hyderabad before joining CG Semi, where she is contributing to India’s ambitious semiconductor mission.

During the interaction, the Prime Minister is expected to discuss the employees’ work experiences, family backgrounds, and their role in shaping the future of India’s semiconductor industry.

The launch of the first commercially manufactured semiconductor chip marks a significant milestone in India’s technological advancement. It reflects the country’s growing capability to manufacture world-class technology instead of relying solely on imports.
