Jamshedpur: Jharkhand Finance Minister Radhakrishna Kishore held an interactive meeting with members of the Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) at the Chamber Bhavan in Bistupur during his Jamshedpur visit, where a wide range of issues related to the city’s development and industrial growth were discussed in detail.

Chamber President Manav Kedia, Honorary General Secretary Puneet Kanwatia and other office-bearers welcomed the Minister and presented several key demands. Kedia urged the government to resume property registration in the Tata Command Lease Area, which has remained suspended for months. “The closure of registrations is slowing down Jamshedpur’s development and causing significant revenue loss to the state,” he said.

Highlighting the need for a stronger industrial ecosystem, Kanwatia stressed the importance of a competitive incentive framework for new industrial units. He suggested capital subsidies for MSMEs, interest subsidies during initial years, concessional power tariffs, and a time-bound approval mechanism. “A truly effective single-window system and better departmental coordination are essential for accelerating industrial setup,” he added.

Vice President Anil Modi raised concerns over several pre- and post-GST cases pending across departments, which has delayed differential payments for years. He called for a special verification and settlement mechanism to expedite all such claims. Another Vice President, Advocate Rajeev Agrawal, emphasised making the state’s tax administration more transparent and digital. “Data-driven inspection systems and automated tools are crucial to strengthen GST compliance and curb tax evasion,” he noted.

Vice President Harsh Agrawal highlighted the need for reforms in the mining sector, including faster auctioning of irregular leases, real-time monitoring of mineral transport, and stronger technology-driven systems to prevent revenue leakage.

The Minister assured the businessmen and entrepreneurs that all concerns would be examined closely. The meeting was attended by several former presidents, office-bearers, industrialists and members of the Chamber.
