Sonia visits ailing Lalu; opposition unity key, says Tejashwi

Former Congress president Sonia Gandhi visited RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav in New Delhi on Monday. She met him at the residence of his daughter, Misa Bharti.
Sonia Gandhi enquired about the health of Lalu Prasad, who is receiving treatment at AIIMS. Doctors recently shifted him from Patna to Delhi for specialized medical consultation.
His condition remains stable. Lalu Prasad shared photographs of the meeting on X. He said her visit brought back memories of their political association during the UPA government.
He highlighted key welfare initiatives undertaken during that regime for youth, farmers, and soldiers. He specifically recalled landmark legislations like MGNREGA, the RTE Act, and the RTI Act.
He also noted that former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh’s government allocated over 1.45 lakh crore rupees for Bihar’s development.
Bihar Leader of the Opposition Tejashwi Yadav stated that Sonia Gandhi wished to enquire about his father’s health. He emphasized the longstanding relationship between the two political families.
Tejashwi Yadav also discussed the INDIA bloc’s recent rally at Ramlila Maidan in Delhi. He stressed that opposition unity remains essential to challenging the ruling party effectively.
He declared that opposition parties across the nation must stand together and fight collectively. He asserted that unity forms the foundation for winning this political battle.
He also targeted the BJP over its remarks describing the Ramlila Maidan rally as a failure. He questioned why the ruling party reacted so strongly if the event failed.
Tejashwi claimed that the BJP feels troubled and disappointed because the opposition exposed its actions. He promised that opposition leaders will not remain quiet moving forward.
