Police in Jharkhand booked two men in separate cases involving the alleged rape of marginalized women in Godda and Chatra districts.
In Godda district, authorities charged Thomas Soren, the 32-year-old principal of a private missionary school.
The victim worked as a cook in Soren’s kitchen within the Sunderpahari police station limits.
Police stated that the principal sexually exploited the 40-year-old tribal woman for over four months.
When the victim became pregnant, Soren gave her abortion pills, which severely deteriorated her health.
Soren also threatened to fire the victim and her husband and expel their child if she revealed the abuse.
Officers lodged an FIR on Sunday under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
Authorities sent the victim to a government hospital for a medical examination on Monday.
Police teams are currently conducting raids to apprehend the absconding principal.
Meanwhile, Lawalong police in Chatra district booked 22-year-old Nilesh Saw for allegedly raping a 35-year-old Scheduled Caste woman.
The victim’s husband had borrowed money from Nilesh, who repeatedly visited her home to collect interest.
Nilesh allegedly raped the woman during these visits when her husband was away.
Following the incident, the suspect’s father, Manoj Saw, visited the victim’s house and allegedly hurled casteist slurs at her family.
Police registered an FIR under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the SC/ST Act against both men.
Officers completed the victim’s medical examination and launched a detailed investigation into the matter.
