Jamshedpur, April 21: Members of Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) launched a poster drive to create awareness among traders regarding their ongoing agitation against agriculture market tax.
Anil Modi, secretary, SCCI (Trade and Commerce), said the traders were worried as the imposition of agriculture market tax would threaten their existence. “We are worried about our future as the market tax would boost the business of traders from other states and doom the business of local traders. This tax will neither help the traders nor the government. Hence it should be revoked in the larger interest of trade and commerce,” he said.
Modi said the SCCI had launched the poster campaign to shore up greater support for the cause of traders. He said the posters would be pasted in all main marketplaces of the city.
