103rd convocation and Gopashtami celebrated at Tatanagar Gaushala

Jamshedpur, Nov 1: The 103rd annual convocation of Sri Tatanagar Gaushala cum Gopashtami was organized at Chimanlal Bhalotia Smriti Bhavan in Jugsalai on Tuesday. It was inaugurated by social worker Radheshyam Agrawal.

The chief guest of the occasion was the state Health Minister Banna Gupta while the special guests were MLA Mangal Kalindi and Govind Dodrajka. In his address, Gupta said serving the cows was the duty of one and all. He said cows coming to the shelter house should be served and not made the means of earning profit. He advised Gaushala committee to take best possible care of the cows.

Radheshyam Agrawal said cows were holy creatures and the abode of Hindu deities.

A cultural programme was also organized at the Gaushala in the evening. It started with Ganesh Vandana.

Two day Gopashtami festival was inaugurated at Tatanagar Gaushala in Jugsalai on Tuesday. It started at 10.30 am with Gopujan and Aarati. Women started gathering at the venue from 7.30 am onwards. After the programme, prasad was distributed among hundreds of people. It was sponsored by Kamal Agrawal and Santosh Khaitan. Many members of Marwari community were present during the programme. The Gaushala employees were given new blankets and clothes including saris. Tula Daan and Savamani Daan rituals were also performed. Milching cows were also donated to the Gaushala by several people.

The organizers said Bajrang Bali Puja and bhajan programme would be organized at Kaliadih Gausadan tomorrow. A cultural programme would also be held along with prasad distribution.
