Jamshedpur, Nov 1: Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) condoled the demise of former Tata Steel MD and corporate icon Dr JJ Irani. The outfit president Vijay Anand Moonka said Dr Irani had deep affection for Jamshedpur and the people living here.
“Dr Irani chose to stay in Jamshedpur after retiring from Tata Steel. He breathed his last in this city. SCCI salutes his great contribution to Indian steel industry, workers’ welfare and public interest. Dr Irani was a towering figure whose demise has created a big vacuum in the corporate world. He played a vital role in taking Tata Steel to newer heights,” said Vijay Anand Moonka, president, SCCI.
SCCI general secretary Manav Kedia and other functionaries also condoled Dr Irani’s death and participated in his funeral. They paid floral tributes to the departed soul. They included Chamber vice president (PRW) Mukesh Mittal.
