Seraikela, April 10: Good spirit flowed as prayers were offered at Lord Bajrangbali Mandir and various Akharas on Maha Navami in the district. The festive spirit was very much in evidence as Ram Navami festivity reemerged after a gap of two years: during the last two years only formalities were organized sans the festivity because at that point of time, the country was in the grips of COVID phases resulting in government imposed lockdown periods as protective measures against coronavirus infection.

However, the Ram Navami festival this year is being celebrated in a fetter-free manner as the COVID-19 virus scare has appreciably reduced thereby boosting the festive air.

Long queues of devotees were seen at various temples and Akharas since early morning on Sunday as they lined up to offer Navami prayers. The festive mood was evident this time around after two years of subdued enthusiasm.

The district and police administrations have chalked out foolproof measures to maintain law and order in the district during Ram Navami processions. Patrolling teams and police posts at various road crossings in the district will mark safety measures during the Ram Navami festivities. Health department teams will be on standby at road intersections including at the bus stand at Saraikela. Ambulance services have been provisioned for quick medical aid in case of any mishap during the processions. The medical teams and services have been setup on directives of the Civil Surgeon. Medical Officer Kumari Madhuri, CHOs Bharti Kumari, Dolly Kumari, Nisha Khalko and Hemlata Lakra, ANM Reshma Kerketta and MPWs Madan Minj and Vishnukant Mahato have been deputed at the Old Bus Stand in Seraikela as per the the instructions of the Civil Surgeon. In addition, Medical Officer Dr. Vishal Kumar, CHOs Nisha Khalkho and Hemlata Lakra, ANMs Kunti Soy and Lakshmi Bodra, MPWs Rajesh Verma and Manmohan Mahato have been deputed to take over charges during the second shift.

The district administration has made efforts to plug loopholes during the immersion procession to be taken out on Monday, April 11. No chances are being taken in a determined bid to ensure a hassle-free environment during the immersion processions on Monday, April 11.

Besides police and medical teams at important intersections of the district, the electricity department too has readied teams to attend to all power problems on the occasion. Maheshwar Kumar, Executive Officer of Electricity Department said that teams would be available at the Hanuman Mandir vicinity in Saraikela. Junior Electrical Engineer Sushant Hembram will be present at the site.
