Seraikela Police to crack down on roadside Romeos, miscreants in Seraikela

Seraikela: To empower the women of the country, the Central Government has brought Nari Shakti Vandan Act (Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam). Now a new initiative has been started by Seraikela District Police of Jharkhand regarding awareness about women’s safety. On the instructions of Superintendent of Police Dr. Vimal Kumar, Mahila Shakti Patrolling has been started with the aim of keeping women safe and cracking down on roadside Romeos and miscreants.

With the aim of securing women on the roads, on the instructions of the state police headquarters, Seraikela SP Dr. Vimal Kumar has started ‘Mahila Shakti Patrolling’ in the urban police station area of Seraikela district. During a programme organised at Adityapur police station premises on Wednesday, SP flagged off the Mahila Shakti Patrolling Party.

On this occasion, Dr. Vimal Kumar said that in the initial phase Mahila Shakti Patrolling will work in important police station areas of the district like Adityapur, Gamharia, Kandra and RIT police station areas. Women police officers including eight women policemen will be ready in this patrolling party. This patrolling party will remain active every day from 8 am to 8 pm. Mahila Shakti Patrol, which was started with the aim of preventing crimes like molestation of women, will mainly keep vigil on the roads including around schools and colleges. Apart from this, the team will work actively during the arrival and departure of women around the women’s institutions. SP said that at present the women patrolling party will remain working till 8 pm. After getting further women police force, it will be expanded to night also.
